I have stayed here for over a week, and the Candlewood provides a lot of extras to make their guests feel at home.
I had a good stay, but don't leave something behind on accident. I accidentally left a pair of shorts with money in the pocket. They were never logged in lost in found. 2 days later a front desk guy found the shorts somewhere without the money. I won't stay there again.
Did I mention pool, gym, bbq grills, and the cupboard where snacks and frozen foods are available to purchase 24/7?
Had a great stay at the Candlewood. Nice rooms, great amenities, and lots of extra little touches to ensure that you feel like you're at home away from home!
I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling on business or vacation!
Front desk was very polite and did not make us wait. The room was in good shape and well stocked. Great stay.
Instead of living on microwave and take-out food we are enjoying a kitchen with full sized fridge and all dishes and cookware provided. They have a "lending locker" that allowed us to borrow a George Foreman grill, as well as books, movies, board games, and stationary items.
Melanie at the front desk was always very sweet and courteous. One morning my key was deactivated and it beeped as I tried to enter the room where coffee is. Before I could get to the front desk to request a new one, she was up to greet me saying "sounds like a bad key!".
Rob at the front desk is especially friendly and helpful. He had gone out of his way from day one to make us feel welcome and relaxed. I didn't have my rewards number on hand at check in, so he took the initiative to research it on his own and ensure that I earn rewards for my stay. When I complained about my room being chilly when I returned from work, he personally came to our room to fix the problem and show us how to properly set the thermostat to avoid this.
The lady at check in wasn't rude but she wasn't friendly either. It was late in the day by the time I got there and I'm sure she had a long day but so did I. The hotel looks great all around inside and out. There is no free breakfast but you have a full kitchenette in room for cooking. They have free laundry which for someone like myself on the road all the time for work, appreciates as that stuff adds up over time. They have a pantry to purchasing items. The have a cabinet for borrowing small appliances and games.the gym is nice and has plenty of things to use. They have an outdoor pool and a business center. The room was very nice and clean. There are also plenty of food places nearby for going out as well as Wal-Mart to get things to make yourself.
We will definitely stay here again when we return to Abilene
