Very pleasant visit at Hendricks Hospital located on Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene TX. if more hospital emergency rooms where as friendly and efficient as this we would probably have less deceased people in the world!!! Kudos to Dr Sharpe and staff b/c they were really GREAT and I do mean GREAT!!!
I was not impressed with this place at all. They were very unorganized and not compassionate whatsoever. It took 5 hours to see someone when the doctor that sent us there called them in advance. Then as we waited on a bed in the hall (that was odd to me), to see a trauma patient come in crying because she's young, skert and in pain, I watch several nurses rolling their eyes, staff make faces. Absolutely uncalled for. I get to hear one talk to her very rudely. A little comfort goes a long way peeps!
If you want decent care, drive right past this hospital and go to another one-even if it is way out of your way. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place!
My daughter had to have outpatient surgery there a number of weeks ago. All the nurses and doctors, etc were wonderful and eased my fears as well as my daughter's. We are now going to the wound care center for aftercare and the nurses and doctor in that department have been fantastic. The facility over all is clean and welcoming. We are so thankful for Hendrick Medical Center and the other facilities within. I highly recommend them.
Never again!!!!!
I would not go to this hospital ever again. I wouldn't even trust them with something as simple as a paper cut! My daughter went to emergency room after she sliced her finger with a knife. Instead of stitching her finger, the doctor glued her finger! (It is not protocol to use glue on the finger tip.) ...and her finger was not even glued completely shut, it was gaped open! My daughter's finger split open within a few hours. She would have been better off not going to the hospital at all!
The least I can do is tell everyone who reads this - this medical facility took care of my dad for about 17-21 days before the Good Lord took him in late Nov 2013. For eighteen months my dad had suffered from pancreatic cancer. Hendrick never charged us a dime. I never saw a bill. The ladies that sat with my brother and sister and stepmother and me said flat out ' you will not see a bill from us'. Lots of lives probably begin and end at Hendrick. Thank You Hendrick. Thank you Abilene. Thank you Texas.
