Excellent prices, service and honesty
Ellis is hands down the best auto shop in town. After trying several others in town, I will only let Ellis work on my cars. Honest shop that won't do any work unless necessary.
Had Ellis do several jobs including work on transmission, air-conditioning and panel cluster. Ellis himself is a nice guy but I feel his younger mechanics are either misleading, lacking knowledge of the specifics or dont really care and are just there for the check. Every time I went there and went with the advice of the mechanic, I had to repeatedly take my truck back for more work and at $80 an hour it gets pretty expensive, especially when the job isnt done correctly. Example, I needed a new gas tank so took it to Ellis to have a used one put on. I had recently had a new fuel pump put on before this. The mechanic put the used gas tank on and instead of putting my new fuel pump on with it, put the used one that came with the gas tank causing me to pay another $700 when the pump went out several months later. I could go on but in summary I feel if Im going to pay top dollar for a job, I shouldnt have to take my vehicle back 3-4 times afterward, and get charged each time $80 and hour for a job that shouldve been done right the first time.
I have done business with Terry Ellis for many years and find him to be the most honest, best mechanic in Abilene. He stands behind his work and it is very evident when you talk to him that he really cares about your situation and the problems with your car. He is a perfectionist and will do just about anything to do the job right the first time. I trust him do do all the work on my vehicles and my employee vehicles. The cost of his services is more than reasonable and the fact that you never have to worry about what is going on with your vehicle in the shop--IS PRICELESS!! Bob H.
