Basically, the Budget Rental Car place in Abilene, TX is a franchise.
Only two issues was it said airport, but if I had read the directions I would have known better, and there was no washer fluid.. bugs in Texas are big!
My insurance folks are closed on weekends...and since they couldn't reach a "voice" to confirm...I was refused the rental. This was the "final reasoning". Just minutes before...I found out that they don't take checks...don't take debit cards...don't take cash. They will only take a nationally recognized credit card.
Well, my wife did have "the reserve" Master Card...so, that qualified. That's when the other issue arose about needing to get a "verbal confirmation".
I can’t remember the young lady name that helped me with returning my rental but she was great. I called ahead to inform her that I was trying to fly out earlier and would need to get back to the terminal ASAP. When I got there everything was very fast we close out the rental less than 10 mins. With me arriving to the airport in time to catch the flight to Dallas leaving within the next hour.
(And Hotwire is gonna hear about this too.)
So, I went down the street to Enterprise Rental and got what I needed for about $70 more is all. Had I known that the extra $$ would've kept me from such frustration...I'd have done that first.
This event has been forever seared into my memory.
If could give this place a big fat 0 I would. Their employees are very rude and not informative at all. She didn't know her job well and got snappy very easily with me. I will never go back and do business or wast my time.
I must say, previous reviews had me a little apprehensive but I chose to see for myself. Was in town visiting family and needed a car. They were the cheapest so I got a ride to the airport to get the rental. I walked in, no budget.. odd because it said abi budget..Looked at my phone again to make sure I didn't read it wrong and found they were a few miles away, no biggie. Walked in and was greated warmly and the man at the desk promptly started working on my car rental. Not only that but his associate helped assist to speed up the process. Got a beautiful charger and couldn't be happier, 100$ under the competition. It had a few scrapes and whatnot, but it's a rental! For the price it was well worth it. Will deliver me and my family to the airport and even hold the car seat I borrowed at the shop until a family member retrieves it the next day, now that's service!
They had a great Dodge Charger for me at short notice and drove me to and from my car. They were very nice and the most reasonably priced! I even had free XM radio which the competition requires a fee of $5/day. I couldn't have been happier. They also have a cute little dog that greets you at the door:)
(That's what they kept telling me anyway.) All they could do was shake their head and find ways of not letting me get the car as per the agreement.
I booked a rental car from Budget via Hotwire. Everything was set and confirmed weeks ago. We show up and they need to see my insurance card and so I find one. This was done because they needed a "verbal confirmation" from my insurance folks to be sure that my insurance would transfer to a rental.
