Hired David Thedford to get custody of my step daughter. First he quoted us a price that would take care of everything. Prepaid in full. He did not show up for the hearing and sent a replacement that was thumbing thru our case on the fly. Then it was time for the final hearing. He requested more money and stated that it was not included in the original quote. Again prepaid in full. Once again he did not show up for the second hearing and sent a replacement. I truly believe we only won because the biological mother did not show up, and judge could see she was clearly not fit to take care of her anymore. Now that court is over we finally received our paperwork signed by the Judge and is full of mistakes! They even said that her biological mother appeared in court when she did not and said that my step daughter was a male among other mistakes! We have called and emailed several times and continue to get the run around.... "it's not a big deal", "We'll look into it", or "we will file an amendment", "we have hundreds of clients", "we've been on vacation" the excuses go on and on. After so many excuses and given the run around for so long I finally told David today that we need these documents to be correct! He proceeded to get upset with me and asked why we needed them. That what we have was perfectly ok! I explained that there is an open case of injury to a child involved and the police recommended that the paperwork be correct. He then proceeded to get more upset and said he would no longer speak to me and would from now on only speak to my husband. I am actually very scared to even post this review out of fear of retaliation. We still don't have the correct paperwork and he was so ugly on the phone. I am only sharing my experience for others to be able to make an educated decision when hiring a lawyer.
