Always find the things I need and can get in and out quickly the grocery store that I love and the employees are so nice and friendly
Still can't get help when needed.
Produce was NOT fresh. I could not find a single avocado in two bins of large and two of small that were not mushy & dark. Since I was planning to make guacamole, but not immediately, I did not buy any of the other ingredients, just because the avocados were way overripe. (Workers checked them just after two other shoppers passed them up, and took ALL of them out, but in the entire rest of the time I was in the store, they were not restocked.)
Love this store. As a student I don't have a lot of money so this store is perfect. I was able to buy a turkey and sides for thanksgiving and the turkey was 10 pounds and cost less than 10 dollars. Thanks HEB
Store is run-down. I especially noticed the doorway into the meat processing area was nasty looking, and the floor tiles are dirty & torn, leaving holes. Just generally dingy.
Checkers don't bag groceries properly (chocolate bars in with toothpaste and skin care, instead of with the other 3 packages of candy. Cheese in with pantry goods, and using prepakaged salad to cushion individual soda bottles, instead of wrapping the bottles, and putting the salad in with all the rest of the produce. )
I love HEB when I first discovered it in San Antonio their produce is always so fresh. They also have such a wide variety of foods. Only thing they need to work on is teaching the cashiers how to bag things correctly! Not boxes and my fruit in the same bag!
Employees are super helpful and considerate. Their selection for everything from produce to paper products is the best in town. Building seems to be older; restrooms specifically could use some renovating.
