ABI is a decent little airport, it has six round trips daily to DFW. From there you can connect to anywhere in the world. The security line is usually three people long, terminal is comfy. In the am there is a continental breakfast cafe, but other than that it's just a coke machine so eat before you arrive. I've flown out of here numerous times and I love the convenience... I can leave the house, 15 minutes later park under terminal side covered parking for 8 bucks a day and clear security in 15 minutes more. An hour later you are in Dallas. If you drive to Dallas you still be barely in Fort Worth fighting traffic not to mention DFW security lines...
A nice, small airport. Close to the city and several hotels. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Consistent and dependable airport with friendly people. The only delays I've seen are a result of DFW connections, which are out of ABI's hands.
Edit. It's 10:05 and they just started screening people. We should have been boarding 10 mins ago.
Literally the worst regional airport I have ever flown out of. I don't know why I keep trying to fly out of here. My wife or myself have flown out of here 12-15 times and more than 60% of our flights have been delayed or cancelled. I will never fly out of here again. I think any locals who fly out of here know what I am talking about. It's worth it to just drive to DFW, even though I'm 3.5 hours drive away.
I got here and hour and a half before my flight. Had to wait until 9:45 to start going through security because the workers are slow. Flight is supposed to leave at 10:25. We'll see if that happens.
I went through Denver Airport faster than this place.
